Emeritus Professor
- Procedure for selection of Emeritus Professor.
- Invite for application for Emeritus Professor (3 weeks’ time) in the month of July-August (every year).
- Yearly intake of Emeritus Professor is 10 to 15.
- At present there are 30 EP.
- The limit of EP should not exceed above 100 at any point .
- After last date of submission of forms a list is prepared and scrutiny the application is done according to eligibility criteria.
- Eligibility to Apply for Emeritus Professor.
- Only NAMS Fellow of eminence, from any field can apply.
- Basic Sciences
- Medicine or Surgery
- Biomedical Science
- He/She should have teaching experience of at least 20 years, of which 10 years as professor.
- The Upper age is for nomination 75 year.
- RESPONSIBILITIES & FACILITIES FOR NAMS EMERITUS PROFESSOR
- The duration of NAMS Emeritus Professorship is FIVE YEARS.
- Emeritus Professor is expected to make 3-4 visits of up to 4 weeks in a year for a duration of upto 4 weeks to Eminent centres in India to promote academics teaching and research.
- NAMS Emeritus Professor will carry out the academic activities in his/ her specialty in any medical/ biomedical institution/centre in India. These academic activities will be :
- Organizing Lecture/Seminars/Tutorial sessions
- Imparting Skill building sessions
- To act as Mentor & to develop the specialty/ laboratory services with newer technologies/services in medical & allied sciences
- To help in analysis of data, interpretation/ writing research papers and reports.
- They will NOT be involved in any patient care in the host institution. Though, he/she can be called for any opinion on any patient by Host institution.
